GRANADAN MINIATURE DACHSHUNDS

GRANADAN MIDADZ GORRAVAN

Tealby Theme Song ex Granadan Gracious Lady

26.07.1996 - 10.02.2009

Wiggi has been my guardian angel over the years.  Her Royal Highness was with me before the children, went to work with me in an office and spent almost a year down my jacket as a puppy when I was a motorcycle courier.  Wiggi has been camping and been smuggled into hotels - all were greeted with her particular blend of gusto.  She would sell her soul for coffee (then bark till you add sugar) and until you saw the contortions she went through for a tomato, you would not believe a Dachshund really could stand on her head!

Basically, she was one in a million and a real character.  Other words used to describe her have been stubborn, obstinate, filthy, thieving, cantankerous, moody, sulky, spoilt...  You get the idea.  anyway, the one thing Her Majesty couldn't do was read, so I was safe to say I agreed with all of the comments over the years.  But to me, one word summed her up.  Perfect.

The miserable old madam was my bridesmaid when I got married.  Apart from howling so I had to have her under my arm, and having to keep the ring out of her mouth (she thought it might be edible and snatched it just in case) she was surprisingly well behaved.....

So this is where we part, my Friend,
and you’ll run on, around the bend.
I will go on, I’ll find the strength,
life measures quality, not length.

There are others, that much is true,
but they be they, and they aren’t you.
And I, fair, impartial, or so I thought,
Will remember well all you’ve taught.

Your place I’ll hold, you will be missed,
the fur I stroked, the nose I kissed.
And as you journey to your final rest,
take this with you…  I loved you best.

Now the floor of heaven is laid
With stars of brightest gold.
They shine for you.
