Smooth/Wire/Long
Each coat in our Dachshunds require different properties. Cross coating was disallowed in 1977 but recessives still appear, and no doubt will do so for a long time to come.

Wirehair is dominant over Smooth and Long
Smooth is dominant to long but recessive to wire.
Long is recessive to all other coat types. Longs cannot carry other coats. Smooths may carry long. Wires may carry either.
